What's new in Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2017 (version 11.1) ?
Adobe just released some fantastic new updates to video in the latest release of CC 2017. Below are all the updates you need to know!
1. The Essential Graphics Panel
If any of you were frustrated by the limitations of live-text templates, get ready to be mind blown! The new Essential Graphics Panel lets you build fully customizable motion graphics templates in After Effects that can be updated in Premiere Pro. Once you export the Motion Graphics Template from Adobe After Effects you will be able to adjust a variety of Title controls in Premiere Pro. This includes text, graphic style, position, and scale adjustments. This is a HUGE upgrade from live-text templates which only let us update the text in Premiere Pro. Pretty great, right? You can also share the Motion Graphics Template to your Creative Cloud Library, which will further increase the collaborative workflow between motion designers and editors.
It's also worth noting that the motion graphics templates created in the Essential Graphics Panel will replace the Live-text templates workflow, but existing live-text templates will continue to work. Watch my live-text templates tutorial.
2. New Workflow for Adobe Stock
Within the Libraries panel of Adobe stock, there is a now a hover and scrub experience. So all you have to do is hover over a clip and you will be able to preview the clip before you drag it into your timeline.
Also, you can now select a "Publish" destination to Adobe Stock from within Premiere Pro's Export Settings window. So if you shoot any b-roll that you would like to upload and sell on Adobe Stock, all you have to do is connect your account within the "Publish" tab of export settings, check the box and when you click export the video it will upload directly to your Adobe Stock account.
3. Essential Sound Panel is now in Adobe Premiere Pro!
You may have used the Essential Sound Panel in Adobe Audition to clean up your Dialogue using dynamic link between Premiere and Audition. But now, you don't have to do that! You can open up the Essential Sound Panel in Premiere Pro and apply the same presets, such as the 'Balanced Female Voice' or 'Podcast voice' to your dialogue tracks. You can also auto-match the loudness, reduce noise, adjust the EQs and make your own reverbs. Overall, this will make it faster for you to mix your tracks and clean up your audio mix in Premiere Pro!
4. Camera Shake and De-Blur in Adobe After Effects CC
Let's say you have a shot that is shaky and you want to de-stabilize it? Okay, no problem, use warp stabilizer. But then when it is stabilized, you still have some frames that look quite blurry compared to the in-focus frames. The new Camera Shake and De-Blur effect in Adobe After Effects will replace the blurry frames with stable focus shots using optical flow technology. This is only available in Adobe After Effects. Adobe Magic!
5. Lumetri Scopes are now in After Effects
If you are in Adobe After Effects and want to color correct? Have no fear! You can now use the Lumetri Color panel inside of After Effects to white balance and color correct!
6. Character Animator Updates
Character Animator is such a fun and innovator app that lets you use characters as puppets. It uses camera-based face tracking so you can talk into the camera and your puppet will mimic the movements of your face. The new update lets you change mouth shapes after recording, for example, if you want to change the "e" lips to an "o" shape of lips, you can do that! You can also stream live with Character Animator using "Mercury Transport."
Also! Character Animator now lets you also choose from a set of preset walk cycles for your character. So what may have taken you 12 hours to create and test different styles of walks for your character, can now take you just minutes. Quite amazing!
These updates were released today, so go update your creative cloud apps!
